Wrapping Up: Week Fifteen

This Week: -814g
Total: 409,155g

Yikes! Negative gold. Yuuuck. I actually made a decent amount of gold this week, but spent way more than I should have. Christmas combined with time constraints, family issues and Blizzard being douchey really cut into my earnings.

This week I spent..
15k on Christmas presents (Few Portable Holes)
I made my priest the new Legs and Booties from ICC..
26k on Primordial Saronite
5k on Moonshroud
Plus enchants and gems for a lot of new gear I got in ICC 25
= Around 48kg
So I actually MADE 48k this week and then spent it on crap ;D

A few days before Christmas my Grandma was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and then she had surgery on the 26th. I've been spending most of my time at the hospital with her, coming home for a few hours at night to sleep and then going back. I've gotten a little bit of time to repost and then I was able to raid on Sunday night, but other than that no WOW for me!

Also on the 24th I received a "Account Action Notification -- Exploitative Activity Found" e-mail and my account was suspended for 72 hours.
"This suspension happened because one or more characters on the account were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy. "

YEAH RIGHT. I also received a message from Battle.net saying my password had been reset o.O So I called them and waited on the phone for -40- fucking minutes for a representative to speak to me. Conversation went something like this:

Tella: Hey, I received an e-mail stating my account was suspended for 72 hours due to exploitative activity and my password has been reset
Customer service rep: Well it sounds like your account security was compromised. You need to be very careful visiting webistes ----
Tella: Sorry to cut you off but I have an authenticator
Rep: Sorry, What?
Tella: I have a blizzard authenticator on my account.
Rep: Oh well then I don't think you were hacked
Tella: Uh-huh..
Rep: It looks like your account was flagged due to a foreign IP. Have you shared your authenticator with anyone?
Tella: No, that's me. I'm visiting family in the Republic of Panama for the holidays.
Rep: Oh I see, well I'm very sorry your account was flagged, when we see large transactions occurring on an account with a foreign IP we flag them for suspicious activity.
Tella: Large transactions.. Lol, I make quite a few of them everyday, that's normal activity for my account. I have over 400k in my personal guild bank.
Rep: *tick tick tick* Yes, I see that. Well, I'm going to ask a GM to take a look at this and I'm sure we'll have your account back to you and running in no time.
Tella: Uh.. it's the day before Christmas and there was a 40 minute wait to even speak to you..
Rep: *laughs* I'll mark it urgent
Tella: Thanks!

Long story short, the suspension was lifted the next day. I was really happy they got it taken care of so quickly, but still a little pissed that I had to "Do time without committing a crime". This is actually the SECOND time I've been wrongfully accused by Blizzard. The first time was a major hassle, I was suspended for a the full 72-hour period and THEN my account was cleared. They credited my account with time, but it was still fucking bullshit. Slam down the ban-hammer without fully investigating the situation. GG! Those e-mails were actually pretty interesting, I'll let you guys read them..

Blizzard:
Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Offense: Bug Exploitation
Details: Intended Exploitation of game bug

A user of the above account has recently been involved in actions deemed inappropriate for the World of Warcraft by the In-Game Support staff of Blizzard Entertainment. This decision was made after a thorough investigation of the situation as a whole. During the course of our investigation, we discovered that the character listed above had received item(s), experience, or money obtained through exploitation.

Tella:
I received an account suspension notice due to "Intended Bug Exploitation" however, I did not exploit the bug. A bunch of guildmates of mine were also suspended because they did partake in exploiting the bug. Apparently there was a bug with the Coren Direbrew boss that you could do 25 dailys and then repeatedly summon him, giving infinite chances at a mount drop or other items. I did 25 dailys on my character, but did not go to Blackrock Depths to summon the boss. Please check your logs and see that my character did not enter that instance that day and that I did not partake in the summoning bug or any other "bugs, hacks, or cheats"

Blizzard:
Thank you for your follow-up email regarding the account. This account was actioned after a Blizzard Entertainment investigation produced evidence indicating the account participated in abusing a known issue with the Coren Direbrew encounter, which allowed players to repeatedly kill the seasonal boss in a single instance. Upon further review, we have determined that our original findings were accurate and the action was in line with our current policies.

At this point I'm like FUCK it. These fuckers want to accuse me of shit I didn't do but I have no way of proving my innocence so what the fuck ever. I did my time, 72 hours with no WOW /wrists. A few days AFTER my suspension I recieved this e-mail from them:

Blizzard:
We are contacting you in regards to a recent account action. After a thorough review of the matter, the account action has been removed from the account and any items removed have been restored.

Additionally, we have credited the account with 7 days of free game time. This time credit should appear under the Billing section on your Account Management page within the next 72 hours.

......... /grumble mumble *takes the 7 day credit and pouts*

Anyway guys, sorry for the wall of text. Hopefully next week's report will be much cheerier!

Enjoy the holidays!

Wrapping Up: Week Fourteen

Merry Christmas Eve!

Ahck, I'm super late on posting Week Fourteen's results! I've been really busy running all over the place getting ready for Christmas.. Hardly had any time to play WOW, much less write about playing WOW ;D

I'm very happy to say that even though I played the AH for only about an hour a day this past week, I still had amazing results.

I pulled my numbers on Monday night like I usually do, so this is still the amout of gold I've made in one week. Even though I didn't have a chance to post them, I still wrote em down :)

Week: 60,345g

Total: 409,969g

Giddy-up 4-0-9!

Frostweave Bags
Zomg, frostweave cloth and infinite dust all over the place! I've taken VERY much advantage of everybody running heroics and made a crap-ton of Frostweave Bags.

60 Frostweave Cloth: 15g
12 Infinite Dust: 12g
2 Eternium Thread: 4.80g
= 31.80g

Been selling them from 50g to 90g a piece. ;D

Leg Armor
Last week I mentioned briefly that I was selling leg armor, and someone asked me what I meant exactly..
I'm selling the three Leatherworking Leg Patches along with the two spellthreads from Tailoring.

LWing: Earthen Leg Armor, Icescale Leg Armor, Frosthide Leg Armor
Tailoring: Brilliant Spellthread, Sapphire Spellthread

Next Week's results are already looking grim, lol. I have lots of friends in WOW and I love to give my friends pretty things ;)

Have a very Merry Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful time with your loved ones.

Wrapping Up: Week Thirteen

Don't you just love new patches? I sure do!
All of the investments, stocking, storing and saving I did for the patch really paid off :) Although certain things didn't go exactly as planned, I applied plan B to them and those worked out!

Week: 78,014

Total: 349,624

Jeez, talk about blowing my old record out of the fucking water, ey?

Borean Leather
For the first few days, the prices leather on my server hardly changed. Arctic Fur stayed high, normal and heavy borean stayed low. I converted all of my leather into heavy and then into Arctic Fur which I put into Leg Patches. The leg patches sold like CRAZY and I'm already all out of fur. T_T. Arctic Fur is still high, however now normal and heavy leather has gone up.

Saronite
Saronite Ore is still low, didn't see much of a price spike at all. So I 'shuffled' all that I had and turned the mats into enchanting scrolls that I made a KILLING off of.

Glyphs
New glyphs sold great, and are still selling great. I managed to sell a handful of the new recipes on the AH for 300g ea.

Pets
Calico Cats and Albino Snakes.. zomg.. The beauty of vendor items! ;D I'll let the Screenshots speak for themselves..

I'm loving the new LFG system, already have my perky pug! ^_^ Instant Ques as a healer can't be beat :)
It seems like theres only FIVE dungeons in WOW, I've gotten Oculus, Halls of Stone, Halls of Lightning, COS and Gun'Drak over and over and over again lol. I've started healing in just a tabard to give myself more of a challenge, but omg the PUGs get so pissed when they see my nekkid draenei ;D. I've started making a deal with them.. If one person dies, I put my gear back on. That hasn't happened yet!

I'm very happy with the responses I got from my first video :)
The big surprise I've been planning is a video series on how I AH. I'm going to cover all the addons I use from Buying, to Crafting, to Mailing and Storage, to Posting. However, I'm going on a three week vacation so the recording portion of the video series is going to have to wait till I get back. I'm going to continue to play WOW and the AH Game, but I won't have as much time. There will still be a weekly numbers post but things around here are going to slow down a bit until I get back.

Hope you all had a GREAT week and continue to do so!

As always, good luck out there!

Super Speedy Mail!

Hey guys, I just made a short video tutorial for ya'll :) Hope you enjoy!

Transcript:

Hey there, This is Tella from Hit The Cap!
This is a short tutorial on how to have "Super Speedy Mail".
First of all, you need to download and install the addon Called 'Postal' it can be found on Curse.com or Wowinterface.com
Once you have it installed, Go to My Computer > C Drive > Program Files > WOW > Interface > Addons > Postal > .lua file
Open it in a Notepad. Go to OpenSpeed you will see its currently set to 0.50. If you run with low latency, like I do, go ahead and set it to 0.10. If you have high latency, try a bit higher, like 0.30 or until you stop getting errors. Now save the file and go ahead and close it.

Restart your WOW and make sure you have Postal enabled.
The next step is to make a quick Redload UI macro. Just go into your macro window, name and icon it with w/e you want and in the command line type ' /reload ' and now put it on your bars.

Go to your mailbox, Hit Postal's Open all button. As you can see, i'm receiving mail super fast and it's freaking awesome! Wait for it to be done, then hit your new macro, wait a few seconds for it to load up, mine isn't usually this slow, just laggin a bit due to fraps.. Now your mailbox is refreshed and ready to hit open all again!

The mailbox is one of the most annoying and time consuming parts of Auction Housing, hopefully this trick will reduce the time you spend getting mail significantly! And if you're Alliance, you can combine this trick with the Stormwind AH trick found on my blog!

Edit - I received this Postal tip in an e-mail, however I believe I found the original source:
Where else but JMTC? lol

Wrapping Up: Week Twelve

I had the most amazing week..
I managed to accomplish something important in every aspect of WOW that matters to me.
In raiding, my guild went back to Ulduar and we got our Ironbound Proto Drakes.
My 10 man group got A Tribute to Insanity and I came out with gourgeous pony and an amazing cape.
In PVP, I got to 1769 with a new 2s partner.
In Achievement Whoring, the Iron-bound pushed me to the 100 Mount mark, landing me
Mountain o' Mounts and a pretty Dragonhawk.

Most importantly, atleast to this blog ;D, I set a new record of gold made in a week!

Week: 43,079g

Total: 271,610g

(Numbers do NOT reflect patch day sales.)

If WOW ended right now, I could leave thoroughly happy and satisfied, and that's a great feeling  :)

Busy Bee!

Hey look, it's ANOTHER post about 3.3! Lol, I should have posted this yesterday before the swarm, way to go laziness! ;D

Anyway, I've been super busy today getting everything set and ready to go for tomorrow. If patch doesn't hit, well then I get another week to stock!

Glyphs
Milled and inked a bank tab and a halfs worth of IoTS, other half is full of Snowfall.
My scribe is camped out right next to Larana Drone, the Inscription Supplies Vendor. I heard she sells the new glyph techniques in limited supply. If that's true, I'm planning to buy as many as I can get my hands on and listing them on the AH for a huge markup.

Gems
I converted ALL of my badges and all of my honor into Epic Gems.
I have a huge supply of cut gems ready to go up and a nice backstock of uncuts for when I run out.

Bags
Ms. Haris Pilton is releasing a new 24-slot bag, I'm planning on buying a couple for myself and playing around with how much I can sell them on the AH for ;)

Borean Leather and Saronite Ore
Have a tab full of leather and two tabs of ore.
Going to post slowly right after the huge "zomg must buy all phase" for a pretty big markup of what I originally bought it for.

If the sales on those are not what I expected, I will not be at a loss. I bought everything for under my usual threshold and I will just convert them into my normal product. (Shuffle, D/E and Belt Buckles)

Flasks
Stacks of Frost Wyrm, Rage and Stoneblood! I'm expecting a major surge in them since everyone is itchin' to jump into the new instances.

Misc
Other things I'm stocked up on and ready to sell
- Belt Buckles
- Food
- Fish Feasts
- TONS OF ENCHANTING SCROLLS!

I'm excited and ready to go! Are you? :D

Goodluck out there!

Makeover!

I decided to 'spruce up the blog's template last night.. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
I was debating on whether to make the switch to dark-on-light, but I like my blue and black theme so I decided to keep it. Sorry to all you light-on-dark haters!

Did you know that when you switch to a non-standard blogger template it makes you re-do all your little widget thingies? >.< I have to re-do my huge blog-roll /le sigh. Meh, I guess it was due for an update anyway. I know there's quite a few new blogs on the scene, if you know of one that I've missed or if you're an author and would like some link love let me know! I like to use my blog roll as a ghetto RSS reader, kek.

Anyway, tell me what you think about the new look!

Hope you guys had a great weekend <3

Q&A: Saronite Shuffle

Q: My question - well, request - would be for just a basic and simple explanation of the Saronite Shuffle. I think I know what it is, but nowhere have I ever found a simple, step-by-step 'This is what you do' guide.

A: Simple step-by-step guide INC! ;D

1. Prospect Saronite Ore

2. Cut and sell the Blue-quality Gems on the AH
Popular cuts that I use are:
Autumn's Glow: Brilliant, Mystic, Quick, Rigid, Smooth, Thick
Scarlet Ruby: Bold, Bright, Delicate, Fractured, Runed
Twilight Opal: Glowing, Mysterious, Purified, Shifting, Sovereign
Monarch Topaz: Accurate, Durable, Etched, Glinting, Inscribed,
Luminous, Potent, Pristine, Reckless, Resolute, Veiled, Wicked
Sky Sapphire: Solid
Forest Emeralds get cut and vendored

3. Combine Chalcedony, Bloodstone, Sun Crystal, and Huge Citrine with x2 Crystallized Earth to create Crystal Chalcedony Amulet, Bloodstone Band, Sun Rock Ring and Crystal Citrine Necklace.
Bloodstone and Chalcedony can also be used in making Skyflare Diamonds.
Huge Citrines are also used in Jade Dagger Pendants and Earthsiege Diamonds

4. Dark Jade can be made into Jade Dagger Pendants and Earthsiege Diamonds.
Usually I just cut the Dark Jade and Shadow Crystals and sell the normal and perfect cuts to a vendor.

4 1/2: Green-quality gems are also used in the JCing Dailys and Icy Prisims. Keep some for your own use and check the AH prices before you D/E them! I'm able to sometimes sell Chalcedony, Dark Jade and Shadow Crystals for 7g+ on the AH :)

5. Disenchant all the rings and necklaces

6. Put enchanting mats on AH or make into scrolls.

7. PROFIT! ;D
"On many servers, the returns from selling the enchanting mats pay for the ore allowing the blue quality gem cuts to be pure gravy." - Wingman

The ever-lovable WOW millionaire, Zamboni, made an -awesome- graph on the JMTC forums all about the Saronite Shuffle :)
Go check it out at: http://20kleveling.com/JMTCforum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1047

Q&A: Cancel All Macro

I got a lot of kind words and praise for my last post, Wrapping Up: Week Eleven. Along with all the praise (thanks a ton for that btw :) ) There were a few really good questions asking me to elaborate more into what I was doing and explain exactly what I meant. There's a really easy mistake to make when writing, and that's using "terminology" that all your readers may not be familiar with. I personally know what I mean by the 'Saronite Shuffle' or what a 'Cancel all macro' is used for, however, some of you may not. So from now on I'm really going to try and explain what I mean and not just throw terms out there :)

While working towards my goal of "Hitting The Cap.. Again!" I really want to give back and help YOU guys reach your goals. This blog is no longer going to JUST be about my journey. So any questions you may have, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm going to try and get back to all of you, and feature some of the better questions and answers here on my blog. I'm also working on a really big project that I feel will help you guys out a ton. Lol, I keep saying that I have something up my sleeve but not revealing what it is. Sorry for the tease lol! I just want to make sure that my idea is going to pan out the way I want it to before I release any info. I feel that teasing you is better than saying what I'm going to do and having it not work out. This way if it doesn't work out you'll never know. ROFL.

Alright, I think that's enough bullshit. Lets get down to the question.

Q: What is the cancel all macro and what is it used for?

A: Cancel all macro is just a macro that cancels all of your glyphs on the AH.
I use it around every-other day to keep my prices "current".

Copy and paste the code into a new macro. Make sure it's all on one line (no double enter) and nothing got cut off.
Code:
/run local i=1;local n=1;while n ~= nil do n=GetAuctionItemInfo("owner",i);if n~=nil and strfind(n,"^Glyph of") then CancelAuction(i) end i=i+1 end

Sometimes what happens is lets say Player A Posts a glyph for 5g. Player B undercuts him by 1c and sets the price at 4g99s99c. Player C comes in and posts the same glyph for 25g.

Player B: 4g99s99c
Player A: 5g
Player C: 25g

If player A's auctions expires or he cancels it then Player B is missing an opportunity to raise his glyph price. Since he has not been undercut, and he is not the only person posting, his addon will not alert him to it.

Player B: 4g99s99c
Player C: 25g

So with the cancel all macro, it cancels all the glyphs you currently have up, enabling Player B to raise his glyph price and now undercut Player C by 1c making his glyph 24g99s99c

Player B: 24g99s99c
Player C: 25g

It takes a while to cancel all those glyphs and you won't really be able to do anything else on WOW while its working. What I usually do is hit my macro, leave the AH window up and go AFK for a little while. If you accidently close the AH window, it will still continue cancelling however you won't be able to re-open the AH or mail or anything else until its finished.
AS FAR AS I KNOW, there isn't an addon that does this for you yet. So in the meantime, the macro is a quick fix :)

This macro can also work with anything you want to mass cancel, You just need to set it up with what you want it to do. Right now it looks for "^Glyph of"
To change it to lets say, Enchanting scrolls you'd replace the "^Glyph.of" with "^Scroll.of.Enchant" Make sure to start with a ^ and replace the spaces with periods.

I'll be answering more of your questions during the week! If you have a question, please use the "Contact" link on the right and toss me an e-mail :)

Good-luck out there!

EDIT: There's almost always an EASIER way to do something that you've been doing for awhile. Thanks to Jeff, I found out there's a better way to cancel auctions. I'm going to leave the info I wrote as is, incase you don't use QA2 (though if you don't, you should look into starting) and just add his comment here:

"Great post! I have used the cancel all macro and its very useful. I actually use QA2 to cancel my auctions now because it uses its functionality to cancel (like it does post) and it doesn't fall behind get lagged out like the macro can. The macro basically forces the client to cancel everything at once which causes the lag out issues. With QA2 you can do /qa cancelall itemgroupname and it will cancel all auctions in that item group. If your glyph item group is named glyphs then you can type /qa cancelall glyphs and it will cancel them all.
Zerotorescue from JMTC made an edit to the LUA of QA2 and it will cancel auctions that have a listing that's higher then 2g. So if there are 3 people posting a glyph at 25g, 6g and 5g (you), if the 6g glyph falls off and you hit cancel, QA2 will see that the next highest poster is higher then 2g (at 25g) and cancel that glyph."

Wrapping Up: Week Eleven

Week: 23,073g

Total: 228,531g

Inscription
I'm finally up to a 20 stack of every glyph, really enjoying not having to craft as often. I'm posting 4 of every glyph up for 48 hours and using a cancel all macro every other day to keep my prices "current". I'm only checking for undercuts three times a day now so I've really cut down how much time I spend on Glyphs as a whole.

I saw Wayvie log one once the other day however he didn't crash my prices and TGM is nowhere to be found. Life is pretty good right now ^_^. There are still a few people posting but not as much anymore, I've pretty much ran everybody out.

Snowfall was moving like crazy this week, sold around 3 stacks for about 500g a stack :X
Armor/Weapon Vellums, Offhands and Wolf Books are doing great!

Gems
My little blue-quality gem market is chugging along, making around 1k a day. Posting in 12h intervals, 2 gem cuts at a time, and not checking for undercuts. I'm also only posting "popular" cuts, not even bothering with some of the rarer ones.

Autumn's Glow: Brilliant, Mystic, Quick, Rigid, Smooth, Thick
Scarlet Ruby: Bold, Bright, Delicate, Fractured, Runed
Twilight Opal: Glowing, Mysterious, Purified, Shifting, Sovereign
Monarch Topaz: Accurate, Durable, Etched, Glinting, Inscribed, Luminous, Potent, Pristine, Reckless, Resolute, Veiled, Wicked
Sky Sapphire: Solid
Forest Emeralds get cut and vendored.

I'm thinking about posting them more frequently and maybe getting into Epic gems, However there are a couple of issues there that I'll address in another post.

Enchanting
Scrolls are really flying off the shelves, I'm still able to make great money through the 'Saronite Shuffle' even though Infinite Dust is dirt cheap. By selling scrolls, I'm able to mark up the prices of dust to about four times of what it's worth ;) Not to mention the Abyss, Dream Shards and Cosmics!

Boots: Greater Fort, Icewalker, Superior Agility, Greater Assault, Tuskarr's Vitality
Bracers: Greater Assault, Major Stamina, Superiror Spellpower
Chest: Exceptional Resilience, Powerful Stats, Super Stats
Cloak: Major Agi, Superior Agi, Greater Speed
Gloves: Crusher, Exceptional Spellpower, Greater Assault, Major Agility
Weapon: Berserking and Exceptional Spellpower

Linens N' Things
Netherweave Bags are selling good as always. I've also started with Frostweave Bags, and they sell suprisingly well! It's a great way to get rid of that extra Infinite Dust, and with how dirt cheap it is now, theres a lot of profit to be made.

Prices on my server..
60 Frostweave Cloth: 18g
12 Infinite Dust: 24g
2 Eternium Thread: 4.8g
= 46.8g a bag

I've been selling them from 65 to even 80g!

A couple of weeks ago I made a whole bunch of shirts and tuxedos and stuck em up on the AH for 15g a shirt and 40g for a Tux Shirt/Jacket/Pants. Well, they moved slowly, but they did move. I had to recraft another batch of them last night because I was almost sold-out :) Tuxedos sell really well to bank alts and the Wrath Lumberjack shirts sell great. Pink, Lavendar and Orange Mageweave shirts do well and the 'Orange Martial Shirt' sells super fast.

Well, thats my market update for the week, sorry for the wall of text!

As always, Goodluck out there!

At Gold Limit

I started this blog on September 14th 2009, with a goal of reaching the World Of Warcraft gold cap of 214,748g 36s 46c.

After 10 and a half weeks, 286 readers and 29,500 page hits, on November 26th 2009 at approx 11pm, I achieved my goal and HIT THE CAP! ^_^ The auction that pushed me over was an Eternal Belt Buckle that sold for 40g.

Mmm, two and a half months.. That means I averaged around 3,000g a day, 21,000g a week and 84,000 a month. If I was a "true" goblin, and not such a floozy with vanity items I would have hit the cap much sooner. Meh, oh well. I get a lot of enjoyment out of them and that's what matters ;)

Looking back, there were some rough patches here and there, some bad investments and some major assholes, but getting past that, all in all, I had a ton of fun. I had some great times with epic PVP battles on the AH, Finding amazing deals, scheming new ways to get more gold out of the M&S, the thrill when the schemes actually worked! Finding new addons that made my life 100 times easier, Turning myself into Public Enemy #1 by dominating multiple markets. And the most fun of all, this blog. Not so much the writing part of it (lol) but you readers were the best part. All the wonderful comments, e-mails and IMs you guys sent me really inspired me :D Thank you SO much, and I am SO glad that I could inspire you in return.

So whats next? I'm in this way to deep.. I couldn't possibly stop now, I wouldn't know what to do with myself! I'm pretty addicted to the AH.. So, I guess my only option is to.. Hit The Cap AGAIN! ;D

I will continue writing the weekly updates and like I said before, I have some ideas that will bring good content and more frequent posting to this blog! I'm working on a "big project", I promise I'll tell you guys what it is soon, but for now, shhhh it's a secret! <3

Goodluck out there!

Week Nine and Ten

The lack of a post for Week Nine was NOT because real-life was tying me down, not that I was to busy to write, and not that I had a lack of material to write about. It was about not being able to admit failure to YOU and not being able to admit it to myself.

The past three weeks have been rough for me. I'm an EXTREMELY competitive person. I strive to be the best in anything I do, in both Real Life and WOW. To me, failure is not an option and admitting defeat is un-acceptable. I reached a point in gold-making where I felt like I had failed. I was posting at a LOSS, and for the first time ever I was in NEGATIVE. In past weeks, even when I had dropped tens of thousands of gold on SHIT I always came out with profit. GOOD profit, fuck, even GREAT profit.

My cash-cow, Inscription, took a massive hit. I was forced into posting below my threshold. What I used to make in ONE day, I couldn't even touch in an entire week. By the third week of posting at a loss, I really felt defeated. I couldn't bring myself to write about it. I just wanted to crawl into a hole and quit. So I skipped a week in the blog, and for that I'm really sorry.

I eventually (took about a day, lol) got sick of feeling sorry for myself. So I licked my wounds, got the fuck out of that fucking hole and attacked the AH with a vengeance. I went after every market I could think of. I made up a new saying for myself "If someone uses it, I can fucking sell it". I continued posting at a loss in Inscription, I couldn't give up, not after fighting for so long for it. I wasn't going to go from beating TGM to losing to this fuck. I just wrote the loss off and strove even harder to make it back. BAM. 30 FUCKING K in two weeks Fuck YES. That is my god damned average of 3k a day and I did it WITHOUT glyphs.

There's really something to be said about persistence and perseverance. Oh, and of-course good ole' fashioned bull-headedness. Know why? A few days ago, my cash-cow had a present for me. A nice tall cold glass of milk. That milk was sweet and delicious, not a hint of sour. That milk was PROFIT. After weeks of crashing the glyph market, the other competitor just couldn't keep posting at a loss anymore. I waited a few days, tentatively raised my prices back up and re-instated my threshold. He wasn't the first, and I'm sure he won't be the last. If and when he decides to come back or another takes his place, I'll be ready. I know what to do now and I won't lost confidence in my abilities.

For now, I'm just enjoying myself. WTB some cookies to go with this milk! ^_^

205k. Wow, I broke the 200k mark. Only 9k more to go until I finally 'Hit The Cap'. Don't worry, I won't stop writing. I plan to continue this blog until I get tired of making gold (Which I REALLY don't see happening, lol) :)
I have some ideas up my sleeve that will bring a lot of great content to my posts and increase the frequency in which I post them!

GL out there guys, Remember to never give up! Go day by day, step by step. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are solid fortunes <3

Wrapping Up: Week Eight

Had a really good solid selling week, and I wasn't naughty this time so I ended up with some awesome numbers! ^_^

Week: 19,698g

Total: 174,768g

Inscription:
Glyphs are chugging along as always, pulling in great numbers every day. Due to a lack of serious cut-throat undercutting wars, I've increased my post cap to 4 at a time. Wait, maybe I should say that again. LACK of glyph wars. Yeah, that's right! I think I've finally broken Theglyphman!! His presence in the glyph market has diminished severely and he's no longer fighting me. I think it's to soon to say he's gone for good, but I know I'm breaking him. We used to PVP on the AH for hours and hours and hours. Just canceling and re-posting alllll day long. Now, hes hardly logging on at all! I've been taunting the shit out of him by leaving my alts logged off most of the time, and then when I see him log on I hop on one of them really quick and smirk when he gives up and logs back off. It's like "Yeah, that's right bitch. I'm online. What're you gunna do? Huh? You can't do SHIT against me anymore" Mannn I wish I could whisper him that, but no, I won't stoop to his level. I'll just /glee in my blog. ^_^

As good as things are with TGM, there's always still my other competition. There's this annoying little shit named Wayie that likes to log on once or twice a week and CRASH the hell out of glyph prices. I've been grabbing the proverbial bull by the horns and making sure he doesn't sell a fucking thing.

He'll give up eventually and I'll raise my prices back up, but for now I'm having to craft like crazy to keep up on stock and make sure hes never the lowest price. I'm selling more glyphs than ever at this new price, they really fly off the shelves. However, I really have noticed a decrease in my income. Dropped from about 3k a day to 2k.
I really don't like the increased work-load of restocking so many more glyphs, but I don't think this will last long. Just gotta wait him out!

Gems:
As a bit of a side project, I've been dabbling in the Blue-quality gem market. Just cutting the gems I get from the "Saronite Shuffle" and tracking what cuts are popular and restocking them. I'm in no way serious about it, not even caring when I get under-cut. I'm posting in 12h intervals, anything that doesn't get sold just gets put right back up. It's a fun little thing to do and I'm making a cute little amount of gold off it :)

Other:
Netherweave Bags, Belt Buckles, Flasks, Enchanting Mats and Inscription by-prodcuts are all doing well. The price of Infinite Dust went down a bit, but with Greater Cosmics staying steady and even increasing in price, it's still really profitable to DE-Fodder rings, leather and cobalt.

In non-gold making news, I found a new addiction in searching for Rare spawns! I finished my Bloody Rare achievement and am about half-way through the Frostbitten achievement :D It's a lot of fun flying around the world and squealing when my Npcscanner goes off!

Hope you all had a great week!

As always, good luck out there ;)

Wrapping Up: Week Seven

I've been a badddd girl, in more ways than one! Obviously I've been bad since it's Thursday and I'm JUST now doing last week's totals. It's also been a week since I last posted.. Naughty naughty Tella!

Week's Profit: 14,656g

Total: 155,070g

The other reason I was bad is those numbers should be a lot higher. I had an -awesome- selling week, but I also dropped a shit ton of gold on some vanity items. Mainly, a Hyacinth Macaw I was watching on the AH for awhile.. He was at 30k then 25k then 20k.. Then I saw him being advertised in trade chat for 10k and I couldn't resist any longer so I snatched him up ^_^ For those of you that don't know, hes one of the rarest vanity pets in the game.. He has an absurdly low drop rate.

I also bought a Twilight Drake from my guild for 4kg. I've been wanting that mount since my guild first got Sarth 3D back in February. Most of the people that won the mount back then with lucky rolls either quit the game, or weren't really deserving IMO. We eventually stopped doing 3D and moved onto bigger and better raid instances. So when my GM decided to go back to make some guild funds by selling the mount, I finally got one of my own ^_^ I'm sad that I have a 310 mount now and this guy won't get used much, but he sure is gorgeous when I do use him!

That ends my bad streak, I promise I'll try to post more. I have some ideas for posts, it's just hard to get started. Once I start writing, the rest just flows, but getting that kick start is rough.

Have I ever mentioned that I have the best GM and friend (Dash) in the world? We farmed the shit out of Headless Horseman with around 11 summons a day. We got ONE mount and they gave it to me /blush. That brings my mount total to 98. Only two more to go for the Mountain o' Mounts achievement!

Race Change Speculation

I was talking to my Guild Leader the other day in vent about race changes and how popular the service is turning out to be. We play alliance, and a lot of serious PVPers have been switching to Humans for Every Man For Himself. He then told me that one of the best trinket options for a Human PVPer is a Greatness Deck since you don't need a Medallion anymore. With the fair right around the corner I expect a nice increase in sales of Nobles Decks and everything associated with the making Darkmoon Cards. So if you're Alliance you should really stock up on those herbs and eternals!
Your Auction Houses might become really dry, really quick.
I'm currently stockpiling and praying to RNJesus for lucky noble procs!

Woweconomics has a great post up on The Top 10 (Murphy’s) Laws of WoW Trading
It really made me smile! Make sure to check it out for a good laugh.

I added a link to a Contact Information page on the right ---->
So if you have any comments, questions or suggestions or just want to drop a line or chat a bit, Please don't hesitate! I love to hear from my readers! I set-up a trillian account to work with Googletalk, Y! Messenger and AIM. I'll be leaving it up whenever i'm available, don't be shy!

I will be adding links for "about the author" and "resources" shortly.

Huge sigh of relief for enchanters!

I've been pretty /emo about the new Disenchanting in Dungeons options for 3.3
Since DE Fodder is a big source of my income, I didn't want to see it take another huge hit with the possibility of every Heroic Group DEing all their loot and sticking it on the AH.

Then I read a blue post about it that says
" To maintain the importance of the profession itself, the disenchanting UI option will only be available for groups that have a character with the necessary level of Enchanting to disenchant the items that are obtained."

FREAKING. WOOT. Thats an awesome change. Now I'm very excited about the D/E in Dungeons and the whole new PUG system sounds amazing!!

Wrapping Up: Week Six

I kinda don't even want to report this week's profit. It's TERRIBLE. lol. I BLAME TEH SARONITE! I found a "chinese farmer" earlier last week that was selling saro ore for 15g a stack, I bought everything he had and let me tell you.. he had a TON, lol. A few days after that I found a guy that was selling "Saronite Ore x50 13g a stack" That guy had more like 300 stacks of saronite.. but I couldn't say no to those prices. I also nabbed some cheap Titanium and Eternals off of him. Now I'm having an inventory crisis with Saronite coming out of my ears! I want to save the bulk of it to see what happens in the next patch, and the rest i'm working on Shuffling.

Week's Profit: 1,301g

Total: 140,414g

Atleast I didn't go into negative numbers and I made back all that I spent. ^_^

Glyph market has been pretty steady. No amazing profits this week from it, but nothing to scoff at either. It keeps chugging along, pulling in an average of 2.5k a day. Nothing really new to update on Theglyphman situation. Blizzard read my ticket yesterday and they say they are "looking into the situation". Theres no real "war" yet, just business as usual. Hes still camping the AH and undercutting me like crazy. I'm giving him the same treatment right back. ALLTHOUGH, He did do something really nice for me.. /giggle Thanks for buying my glyphs and then raising the price so I can sell more for even higher!

I noticed a big increase in my Armor Vellum and Runescroll sales this week. The two epic offhands are moving pretty steadily aswell. Man, I <3 inscription ;)

I havn't done much in the enchanting mats market.. really low prices for Cosmic Essences has kind-of disillusioned me towards the DE-Fodder project. I just need to cut some loses, lower my threshold and stop saving these essences for an increase in price that is probably not going to come. Try to make a profit while theres still SOME profit to be made.

I had a -great- flask flipping experience, I found a whole bunch of Frost Wyrm flasks at 33g each, when they normally go for 45gish. I bought them up and then a day later there were NONE on the AH, so I stuck them up for 60g and BAM!

Heres to not spending as much next week! Hopefully I won't see "wts saronite ore" in tradechat >.>

GL out there!

NI HAO!!!!

So today is the BEST DAY EVER!! Wanna know why? Well, it's because I got my first hate tell! AND ITS A FRIGGIN DOOZY! It's from my biggest competitor. I do more PVP on the AH with this guy than all the other sellers combined. He was the largest glyph seller on the server until I moved in. I guess hes not to happy with me ^_^. Also, my guild bank is named Ni Hao which is where all the racist comments are stemming from.

So, I log in after the big AH crash and re-post all my glyphs for 50g. I had just finished with my 3rd alt when TGM (theglyphman) logs on so I hop back on over to my mage which is my first poster and I prepare for the war when he sends me this tell:

( Yes, I edited out my char's names because i'm a pussy. Sorry wingman )

He promptly put me on ignore so I can't reply >.< Ofcourse I'm not going to stand for that so I hop on my Original poster, the bank alt that I used to post all my glyphs before I switched the 3 alt system. and I whisper him this:

Okay, it's all cool and dandy, I write up a GM ticket saying he harrased me and made racial slurs against me. GG for him. I finish up the ticket and log on my Shaman poster. As SOON as I log on I get this from him:

I undercut him, repost and hop on my Paladin and get this:

Open up 2 more tickets, cancel and repost and go on my merry way ^_^

IT'S SO ON!!!

Wrapping Up: Week Five

Hungry Like The Wolf!

Had a really interesting week. Glyph sales went way down, my usual 3-4k a day dropped to 1k. However, I managed to pull in some amazing numbers with my other markets. Just goes to show how IMPORTANT having an active roll in multiple markets is! So that when one goes bad, or has a slow week, you're still making gold in other areas.

Week's profit: 23,814g

Total: 139,113g

I farmed the pattern to make Rituals of the New Moon and had a fun little social experiment with it. -Everytime- I advertised it in trade chat, atleast one would sell. It put me into a fit of giggles to see "A buyer has been found for your auction" right after I linked it in trade chat, every. single. time.

I only took three screenshots but I sold around 50 books over the course of the week.
It's important to note that when I was not advertising the books, they hardly moved.

On a non gold related note, I finished up my Wintersaber reputation and got my Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber!!
I started the reputation grind around 6 months ago and FINALLY got around to finishing it up.

Sideshot because I wanted to show off my legendary mace ;)

In raiding news, My guild downed Faction Champions and were now working on the Twin Valks in Heroic 25m TOC.

Method to My Madness

About a week and a half ago I mentioned that I had made some major changes in the way I handle my glyph business. Well, that post is finally here, sorry it's so late! To avoid this post getting really long I'm going to post it in multiple parts.. Here's Part One..

When I started out in the glyph business, I had two bank alts. One I did all of my purchasing on and miscellaneous selling, the other I just used for glyphs. Well, I soon realized that if you only have one alt that posts glyphs, bag space is going to be a major issue. It's also a PITA to spend that much time at the mailbox. I also pretty much had to stick my entire inventory on the AH to avoid having to make runs to the guild bank. (I work in Exodar.. the run from the AH to the bank is -not- cool.) Another problem was I would always miss out on "prime time" where everyone is either getting ready for raids or buying gems and enchants for their new gear. I would miss out on it because I was always on my main, doing the same thing lol.

When I heard that mmo-chumpion was going to release an inscription guide, I -knew- I had to make a change, and that change was to make 3 alts on my second account. The only thing that had me really hesitant was the inventory nightmare I would face without being able to use KTQue and Skillet since my Glyph maker was on one account and the bank alts would be on the other. I flirted with the idea of transfering my glyph maker to the second account but then I did some poking around with Altoholic and I saw they supported account sharing. Wait, really? You mean I can share my inventory and AH count between two ACCOUNTS? Hot damn! Altoholic is an -amazing- addon!

Three Goats and A Mule
I made three Space Goats to be my new glyph posters. A Shaman, a Paladin and a Mage. Then I setup my Bulkmail to mail the glyphs off in three sets. I chose these three sets because they are super easy for me to remember since they are the Tier token sets ;)

As you can see my Shaman gets the Warrior, Hunter, Shaman glyphs. My mage gets DK, Druid, Rogue, Mage and my Paladin gets Priest, Warlock, Paladin. So simple! In an hour my inventory looks like this:

The 4th bank alt, that I refer to as my "mule" sells everything other than glyphs and I do -all- of my buying on her.

I've been dual-boxing for almost two years now, I orginally made a second account because I wanted to be able to farm on my druid while raiding (inbetween attempts) and I wanted to be able to run myself through instances. Now I can spend a ton of time at the AH without feeling guilty about not doing achievements and I can raid while keeping up with undercuts! ^.^

Wrapping Up: Week Four

Wow, four weeks.. It's hard to believe I've been doing this for a month already! How time flies while you're having fun and getting filthy rich ey? hahahas ;) Since I started writing HTC I've pulled in around 60,000g. Now, when say I've "made" 60,000g that is pure liquid. That's what sitting in my personal Guildbank.. That's pure profit baby ;D Now if I count how much gold is tied up in mats and in the AH, it's close to 100k. I also have around 30k on my main, and 20k on my "buyer".

I don't even want to begin to count how much I've SPENT, lol. Not just on mats, but on trivial shit. Like, vanity pets.. I'm a sucker for vanity pets. I know I've spent about 4k on them since I started this.. /guilty. Then there's the cost of having two characters that raid every week! That's repair bills, flasks, gems, enchants, spellthread, belt buckle, etc x2! I'm not a casual raider either, by any means. On my priest I do 25 Heroic/Normal TOC, 10 man Heroic/Normal TOC, 10/25 Ony, 10/25 VOA, 10 man Ulduar hard modes and I also do the heroic daily everyday. WHEW! The druid usually only does 25 TOC, Ony and VOA. I'm also getting into PVP more, so that's -another- set of gear I get to gem and enchant.

Hmm, lets see.. What else do I spend a lot of gold on? Oh! Dash. Dash is my bestfriend in RL and in WOW. He's the one who got me into wow and I adore him <3 but, adoration is expensive /giggle. He's currently going for his "Insane" achievement (pfft, copy cat) so I'm helping him out a lot with that. I buy the librams anytime I find them on the ah, they go from 50-100g. I buy low level herbs to mill into Rogues Decks so he can turn them in, I nab Pristine Black Diamonds whenever I see them up for 60g or less and whenever I try to make a few nobles decks to sell, he gets all the "trash" cards (anything thats not a noble).
If I were a stingier player, I'm sure i'd be much closer to my goal, but raiding and friends are the most important aspects to the game for me. I guess I will never truly be a "goblin" since I view my gold as an enabler to have more fun.

This weeks profit is pretty pathetic, I've made more in a day before than I did this entire week.. but if I factor in that I spent over 10k it makes me feel better ;)

Week's profit: 7,564g

Total: 115,299g

Had a great great raid week, in 25 man Heroic TOC We ONE SHOT the beast encounter, busted open the loot pinata that is Jaraxxus and then hit a brick wall with faction champs.. mann that fight is rough! lol, good thing I'm a glutton for punishment and like progression fights ;) In 10 man my group went back to Ulduar and fought Algalon again.. and beat him! Woot Starcaller! /happy achievement whore dance

Stormwind Auction Trick

I found this in a comment on JMTC's post "A lesson on Supply and Demand". It's absolutely brilliant!! Full credit goes to Deltrus.
" Deltrus said...
This macro allows you to stand by the SW mailbox outside of the AH and use the AH at the same time. Absolutely no movement at all! You just need to go to your spell bindings and bind interact target to a button
."

So what you do is first of all, make this macro:
/cleartarget
/targetexact Auctioneer Jaxon
/cleartarget [dead] [noexists]

Next,go into your Keybindings setup and set a key for 'Interact with Target'. It's under the Targetting Functions section

Then you'll want to stand right here in Stormwind.

Use the macro, hit your keybind.. and voila! AH and Mailbox without moving a step!

Sorry hordies, please don't be to mad about the alliance OPness ;) Now stop raiding stormwind and killing the auctioneers every 2 hours so I can actually use this trick myself!

QA2 Borked

Yesterday I installed the latest version of QA2 (v. r20091010) and I've been experiencing some weird problems with it.. For instance, my cap for posting glyphs is 2, but on some glyphs it was posting my entire stock, others it was only posting 1, and some it was picking between 3 and 5 to post o.O. Then when I went to go adjust the post cap, the slider bar "jumped" ahead and will only let me select 1,4,6 etc. No numbers inbetween, and the kicker is it won't let me "write in" a value. WTFBBQ. Also when I tried to run the status feature and it error'd out. I looked on the Curse.com comment section for QA2 and it seems a lot of other people are experiencing these problems, so my advice to you fellow QA2 users is don't update it until it gets fixed!

In other news, I've been pretty busy this week, havn't had much time to write.. I'm still working on that post I promised you guys, sorry it's taking so long!

Q&A

I originally just posted this as a reply, but I figured it made a pretty nice post. It's not as polished as my usual posts, and it kinda jumps around a bit, but I'm sure you can get the general gist of things.

Green Guts said...
"Congrats! I'm currently stuck at the 10,000 gold wall :-\ any pointers for those looking to push past it?
I already have a 6 slot guild bank, epic flying / northrend flying etc.
The only "major" expense I've had lately was working up Tailoring on one of my alts... and another profession may be following in suit shortly. Other than those expenses (and materials) what would you suggest I do?"

Green-

The best advice I can give you is to dip your fingers in as many markets as you can. Right now I'm dealing in Enchanting Mats, Glyphs, Netherweave Bags, Saronite Ore, Meta gems, Eternal Belt Buckles and Flasks. They all have their good days and bad days. When I see a shitty seller's market, I become a buyer. When I see a great seller's market, I resell all that I bought. For example what I did with enchanting mats... It was a terrible sellers market with rock bottom prices.. So I bought all that I could, waited it out and then reposted when the market shifted. All the while I was still making good money off of my other markets.

Make a list of all the materials you want to start dipping your fingers into. Go down that list everytime you log on to post/cancel glyphs. Look at the prices and remember them. Learning your market is crucial to your success. For example, I know that Borean Leather on my server usually sells for 11g a stack. I also know that if I want to make gold off of buying borean leather and disenchanting it, I need to buy it under 10g to first of all, turn a profit, but to also make it worth my time with all the mailing, dis-enchanting and stuff. So when I see a bunch of it up for 6g, I know I can make an informed bulk purchase that will result in profit.

Here are some general tips that I use everyday.. Remember though, these are things that work for me on my server. Every server is different!!! Make -INFORMED- purchases whatever you do, to avoid that bad-deal burn.

- Enchanting mats move like crazy at almost any price. I will see Greater Cosmic essence listed for 13g ea and then in 30 minutes, they can be up to 20g ea. I know I can buyout all the essences at that 13g price and then re-list them. When they tank back down, I have two choices. I can either buy them all again and re-sell, or wait for a better time when more people are on.

- Shadow Crystals, Jade Crystals and Chalcedony are awesome little sellers. I've sold these bad boys for up to 13g ea. Find out what JC daily is on your server and spike those prices. They are also used in the Prisms.

- Flasks are an awesome market. Really play the reseller game here. Buy them late late at night, early morning or afternoon. Sell for double at raid times.

- Metagems are selling really well right now thanks to the loot pinata in the form of Onyxia 10/25. She drops helms like crazy, and guess whats in all of those helms? A meta socket that needs to be filled.

- Netherweave bags are hot hot hot. A stack of netherweave makes 1 bag. I find a stack of netherweave for 4g, make into a bag, and turn around and sell it for 15g.

- My post on spellweave is another hot item tip

Really though, the -best- thing you can do though to push you past that wall is to learn YOUR market. Yeah, sure, you can get really lucky someday and find a random great deal.. but I much prefer making my own luck and find great deals everyday. ;)

If anyone else has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
As always, Goodluck out there!

Wrapping Up: Week Three (Woot! 100k mark)

Well, It was a hell of a week. The whole MMO-Champ Guide posting sent me into over-drive and I fought tooth and nail to keep my market. I spiked the prices of Netherbloom, Icethorn, Adders, Tiger Lily, and Deadnettle to 40-50g a stack (up from 15-20g) and then I crashed the glyph market -hard-, making it impossible for anyone without a good stock of ink to make any kind of profit. I saw around 5 "new posters" try and fail miserably to keep up with my relentless undercuts but by the weekend they all gave up. I even managed to drive out some of my older competition but I'm sure they'll be back once the herb prices settle. However, the herb market is almost non-existant, it's hella slim pickings out there. At the time of writing this theres only 1 stack of icethorn, 1 stack of lichbloom, 0 tiger lily, and like 4 deadnettle. It's been like that almost all weekend.. I've been doing an AH scan for them almost every 3 hours and found nothing. Where have all the farmers gone? You'd think they'd post by the hundreds with herb prices so high.. I'm actually going to have to go farm for herbs to keep my glyphs going since I'm running out of ink fast. The good thing about all this is Snowfall Ink is off the wall and selling like crazy. I stuck 30 singles up there for 50g ea and they all sold within the hour O.O thankyou Darkmoon Faire!

As for the enchanting mats, I didn't fight to keep that market.. I spent my time selling Vellums and twiddling my thumbs, letting the MMO-noobs do all the work. Greater Cosmics fell to 8g singular and Infinite Dust went to around 1g singular.. S'all good. Once Borean Leather spiked to 40g a stack and Cobalt around 50g, I went crazy and scooped all the enchanting mats up. I srsly bought out -everything- and then listed them at *my* prices. 4g a Dust and 20g a Cosmic, tyvm. They are still at that price today and i'm one of the only people selling. Can you say CA-CHING with me? Oh yes indeed, CA-CHING. $.$

Tons of gold went out of my pockets this week, but even more came flooding in. A "big one" was buying the last tab in my Guild Bank. 5k gold sink that I can't "technically" make back, but pays for itself in convenience and time spent.

Week's profit: 15,446g

Total: 107,735g

The night before the Inscription guide was posted I made some major changes to the way I handle my glyphs, I'll write about what I did and how it enabled me to be -ruthless- this past week. You can expect that post sometime later this week.

As always, GL out there!

310 Drakes

My pretty priest on her Rusted Proto-drake

Today I wanted to write about something a little off-topic :) If you read my "about me" post you'll know I -love- raiding and am a major achievement whore. Well this week I've gotten two 310 Proto-Drakes!! First was the Violet Proto from the "What a long strange trip it's been" and the second from FINALLY completing "Glory of the Ulduar Raider (10 man)" I say finally because we've been trying to get a group together to do it for like forever.. finding a damn shaman is impossible for us. It's a little bittersweet since we out-gear the instance so much now, but it feels great to have done it :) That brings my total achievement points up to 8,865. lol.

Between doing TOC 25 regular and hardmode my guild wants to keep working on getting our Ironbound protos. We only have 3 achievements left so were pretty excited :)

I had a another major /nerd glee moment last night when we went and saw Algalon for the first time!! We got him down to 20%! That fight is AMAZING, I love healing it so much. So so so so so much fun!! ^.^ Can't wait to get back in there next week! Starcaller inc! Well, Starcaller for my friends inc, lol I couldn't replace my "Insane" title ;)

Wrapping Up: Week Two

Week two went really well imo, total profit is lower than my first week because I spent a ton of gold some on new gear for my priest and druid (plus gems, enchants and all that jazz) bought around 4kg worth of herbs and leveled my shaman's blacksmithing up to the point that I can DE my own Horned Cobalt Helms.. but even with all that I pulled out some nice numbers. Next week i'm going to try to cut back on the spending a bit.

Monday: 1,239g
Tuesday: 712g
Wednesday: 1,521g
Thursday: 2,134g
Friday: 1,468g
Saturday: 3,985g
Sunday: 3,748g

Profit for the week: 14,807g

Total: 92,289

Zomg! So close to 100k!

DE Fodder

It's no secret that selling Enchanting Mats is a great way to make gold. I've been selling tons of mats to help reach my goal, and let me tell you.. The results are fantastic.

The best way I've found to make serious gold off of enchanting mats is to set-up your Auctioneer's Snatch to find great deals on the materials you need to make "DE Fodder". What you'll want to do is look-up the following green items DE value by using Enchantrix and then decide what the max price you can spend on mats is while still making profit. Then after you scan Auctioneer let Snatch do all the work!

Leatherworking:
Leatherworking is my new favorite source of Enchanting Mats! I've found people posting stacks of Borean Leather for as low as 3g! That kind of profit puts money signs in my eyes $.$ ;D

Arctic Boots
x8 Borean Leather

Jewelcrafting:
DEing rings used to be my #1 source of enchanting mats until the price of Eternal Earth sky-rocketed on my server. Where it used to be 1-2g per eternal, it's now 6,7 even 8g per eternal. Add that to the cost of the green gems and you've got some damn expensive rings on your hands! I can generally still find some good deals late at night on Eternal Earth and green gems which still makes DEing these worthwhile.

Bloodstone Band
x2 Crystallized Earth

Blacksmithing:
Cobalt is pretty iffy on my server. I only use this as DE fodder if I get a great deal on it. Sometimes you find people unloading this in bulk in trade chat. If you see someone make sure to toss them a whisper and see if theres a discount for buying their entire stock. Most of the time people will be so happy to just get rid of it all, they will drop the price way down. BTW, this works with everything people may be selling in bulk, it never hurts to ask!
Remember 1 cobalt ore = 1 bar!

Tailoring:
I don't really recommend using Tailoring for DE Fodder unless the price of frostweave is super cheap on your server, because you have the high cost of Eternium Thread to deal with. Make sure you are exalted with the vendor's faction selling the thread, It'll save you about 12g a stack versus being friendly with them ;) Right now a stack of Frostweave is 8-10g on my server, so it's better if I just sell it on the AH rather than DE it.

As always, play it smart and remember that these are results on my server. Every server is different so you need to find what works best for you! Goodluck!

Spellweave

Since the latest patch, theres been a -huge- demand for Spellweave  on my server, yet a lot of people have not caught on yet and are listing them really low. Perfect chance to play the fun and easy "buy low - sell high" game. I scooped up 60 pieces of spellweave over the past few days for around 75g ea. I've been re-listing them at 150g per. So far i've sold 40 pieces which made me 3,000g. I'm STILL finding the occasional guy selling them late at night for around 85g, so I snatch those up right away and re-list. Be sure to check out the prices on your server, and watch them for a day. See how many are posted and note who is selling them. If you refresh in a few hours and the names have changed, you might have an opportunity to make some serious G off of them. They are in such high demand because of the price drop for the Crusader Orbs that are used in the amazing tailoring patters from ToC! They are BiS for many classes, I know all the priests, mages and warlocks (including my own!) in my guild want a pair of Bejeweled Wizard's Bracers!

Another good option is to advertise in trade chat looking for Spellweave specced tailors with an available cooldown. Even a non-specced spellweave tailor can net you some nice profit but of-course getting two for the price of one is amazing. ;) Before you do anything, please watch your market and price out the mats. Heres an example with data taken from my server.

Spellweave Mats:
x2 Eternal Fire: 46g (23g ea)
x1 Imbued Frostweave: 10g (4g for 10 cloth which makes two bolts, and 6g for two Infinite Dust)
Total: 56g

Selling at 150g for 1 thats 94g profit. If you got the spellweave specced tailor to make your spellweave and you got 2 pieces then you've made 244g

Goodluck!

Inspiration

I woke up this morning and loaded up my RSS Reader to see what was going on in the world of my fellow peers, teh goblins. I got the -best- suprise ever when I read Seth from OneCopper had written alittle review about my blog! I was grinning like a fiend! Thankyou so much Seth, you made my day ;D

Then I read the comments on the post and I read something from Sarainy that made me feel pretty shitty. He brought up one of the ways I got word out about my blog, through posting a comment on a lot of wow-gold blogs telling the author that they had inspired me to write one of my own. Yes, it was a cheap way to get some publicity but it was also 100% true. All of you blog authors inspired me in your own ways to start this. Some by the gold making tactis they wrote about, some by how much success they were having, and some just for the fact that I loved the way they wrote and enjoyed reading every sentence.

In retrospect what I SHOULD have done is made each of the notes a bit more personal, or maybe just by posted something "comment worthy" with a little link in my signature. You know the old saying goes that hindsight is 50-50? Well, it's true but another of my favorite sayings is TIME IS MONEY, FRIEND ;D What I did took 5 minutes, I was in and out and I figured no foul play was at-foot. If I offended any others, I really am sorry. Please take away this one fact: I only did it on blogs I love to read. That means, if you got a comment, I -love- reading your blog and you really, truly, inspired me <3

Now everyone go wish Sarainy Good Luck on his "Challenge"!: http://ah-whoring.blogspot.com/2009/09/challenge.html

Cut-throat business of under cutting

There are five "carpet bombers" in the inscription market on my server. One of them I am almost convinced is a robot, lol, he -never- logs off. I've noticed that he will always undercut me as soon as I log off my bank-alt so i've been leaving her online as much as I can.

Right now I only ever have 2 of a glyph made, and those 2 are always kept on the ah. So everytime I log in and see "you have been undercut on 600 auctions" it makes my heart sink as I have to cancel them all, wait forever to get them out of my mail, and then re-post them all.

If I just make more glyphs, then I can just post them up when I get undercut instead of going through the whole cancelling process. However, my little 2 glyph business is working really well for me and pulling in the profit. I also have the time to play the camping game and can wait out my competition (except that damn robot). So the question is.. should I stick with what i've got or try a new system? A few things that keep me from jumping right into the new system is I'll have to figure out a really good way to keep everything organized since bag space will be a major issue. The other problem is will my mod just start undercutting myself? Maybe I have QuickAuctions set-up wrong but it will constantly undercut my own enchanting mats even though I have her name in the "do not undercut" box thinger. What I'd really like is an option to not post anymore of an item if I am the lowest price on the AH.
