Stormwind Auction Trick

I found this in a comment on JMTC's post "A lesson on Supply and Demand". It's absolutely brilliant!! Full credit goes to Deltrus.

This macro allows you to stand by the SW mailbox outside of the AH and use the AH at the same time. Absolutely no movement at all! You just need to go to your spell bindings and bind interact target to a button."

So what you do is first of all, make this macro:
/cleartarget
/targetexact Auctioneer Jaxon
/cleartarget [dead] [noexists]






Next,go into your Keybindings setup and set a key for 'Interact with Target'. It's under the Targetting Functions section






Then you'll want to stand right here in Stormwind.



Use the macro, hit your keybind.. and voila! AH and Mailbox without moving a step!


Sorry hordies, please don't be to mad about the alliance OPness ;) Now stop raiding stormwind and killing the auctioneers every 2 hours so I can actually use this trick myself!

    This is a wonderful tip that has cut my auction house time greatly - Stormwind turned into my auction house of choice now. I hate the mailbox dance and wish they would move the bank closer to the stormwind mailbox too. Thank you very much.

    Gosh, thanks. You really are helping the bots. And these bots do such a wonderful service to everyone playing the game by being able to buy low and sell very high. Wish I had a few epics to give you because we all want to pay higher prices. We've had several of them on our server lately.

    Set this up exactly as this says to do but all it does for me is target her, not interacting with her and yes I have the macro set to "Interact with Target" and my key binding set to the number 1 on keypad.

    Possible this has been fixed sine 3.3?

    You have to be in just the right spot, on the platform , in the nook where two walls meet. Spam the button while moving around there.

    I am going to attempt to have this fixed by Blizzard. Hopefully they remove that auctioneer or reposition him.

    This is something that gold farmers will use. In the end it encourages negative tactics to earn gold.

    Feel free to flame all you would like. I will be making sure Blizzard addresses this issue.
